Franz Ferdinand is the debut album by Scottish indie rock band Franz Ferdinand and published on 9 March 2004 under the label Sony Music. Five tracks on the album were released as a single, three of which came in the top ten of the UK Singles Chart, including The Dark of the Matinee, This Fire and Take Me Out. Reception

The album was recorded by the critics generally very positive and can be found today in many lists of favorites such as the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, and ranked 101 of the 200 best albums of the 2000s by Pitchfork Media. The New Musical Express gave him nine out of ten points to be awarded, the London music magazine Uncut gave it the highest rating. The Rolling Stone gave three and a half out of five. The magazine placed the album Visions 2005 to place 25 of his 150 albums for eternity.
