Franz-Otto Krüger

Franz- Otto Krüger ( born April 1, 1917 in Berlin, † March 17, 1988 in Munich) was a German actor, voice actor and dubbing director.

Life

He played by his training as an actor from 1934 to Berlin theaters as the Lessing Theatre and the Rose Theatre. At the same time he worked as a master of ceremonies at La Scala, and later in Munich and Cologne.

Kruger was after the war to continue his career on the stage in Berlin and took part in the stands, at the Renaissance theater and comedy. At this time also began his film career. He appeared in numerous films of the 1950s and 1960s, mostly in comedies. His roles were very small, as a rule, he played briefly appearing in the scene officials, physicians, employees, doormen and other marginal figures.

He tried several times as a theater director and directed Who has the choice (1961 ), play in the Castle (1963 ), Belvedere ( 1963) and Viola ( 1969). His only film directing was goggles and bomb - With us you are right! (1967 ), for which he also contributed the screenplay. In addition, there were directing for television. Since 1948, he spent several years as head of the entertainment division at the NWDR outstation Berlin.

As a voice actor he was, among others, the owl in the series pompom, the squirrel his voice. When dubbing director, he was responsible for the German version of a very large number of Hollywood productions, including On the Waterfront, Bambi and The Great Dictator. Kruger was also known by the 1946 resulting 13 -minute skit on the race course, he presented together with Wilhelm Bendow, and as head waiter Charlie in the television series The Forellenhof.

His tomb is located in the forest cemetery Zehlendorf.
