Fred Ramdat Misier

Lachmipersad Frederik "Fred" Ramdat Misier ( born October 28, 1926 in Paramaribo, † June 27, 2004 ) was a lawyer, politician and President of Suriname.

Misier was (at the time of the military dictatorship ), the third President of the Republic of Suriname in the period from February 4, 1982 until January 25, 1988, used at the beginning to the office of ex- dictator Bouterse Dési. He held for many years the office of President of the Supreme Court and played an important role in Suriname's return to democracy. His successor in office as President was Ramsewak Shankar.
