Freddy Rincón

Freddy Eusebio Rincón Valencia ( born August 14, 1966 in Buenaventura, Colombia ) is a former Colombian football player and captain of the national team.

The midfielder completed 84 games for the Colombia national football team, scoring 17 goals. He participated in three World Cups: 1990, 1994 and 1998.

His most famous goal was scored by Freddy Rincón on 16 June 1990 at the World Cup game against Germany, as he gave the ball to 1:1 shot in stoppage time through the legs of the German goalkeeper Bodo Illgner into the goal and thus helped Colombia to the knockout phase.

Rincón began his career in 1986 at Atletico Buenaventura. His other stations were Santa Fe CD and América de Cali in Colombia, SSC Napoli in Italy, Real Madrid in Spain, and SE Palmeiras, Santos and Corinthians in Brazil.

After the end of his active career Freddy Rincón founded the coffee chain 'Café Rincon ", which is particularly active in Brazil. He was appointed on the recommendation of his friend Vanderlei Luxemburgo coach of the southern Brazilian Association Iraty Sport Club 2005.

Freddy Rincón was arrested for alleged money laundering and drug trafficking in 2007.
