Frederick Lane

Frederick "Freddy" Claude Vivian Lane ( born February 2, 1880 in Millers Point, Sydney City, † May 14, 1969 in Avalon, New South Wales) was an Australian swimmer.

He was the first Australian who took part in the Olympic Games. At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1900 he was a member of the British team. He won the gold in the 200m freestyle and 200m obstacle swim at these games. In 1969 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
