Frédérique Bangué

Frédérique Bangue ( born December 31, 1976 in Lyon ) is a retired French sprinter who specialized in the 100 -meter run, their greatest successes, however, in the 60 - meter dash and with the French 4 x 100 -meter relay celebrated.

In 1995, she competed at the World Championships in Gothenburg in the 100 -meter run and reached the quarter- finals there.

At the World Indoor Championships in Paris in 1997, she won the bronze medal in 7.17 s in the 60 - meter dash behind Gail Devers of the United States and Chandra Sturrup of the Bahamas. In the same year Bangue reached the semifinals at the World Championships in Athens about 100 m. A year later she won the silver medal at the European Indoor Championships in Valencia. Her time of 7.18 s, she had to admit defeat only the German Melanie Paschke.

At the European Championships 1998 in Budapest, she was able to celebrate winning the European Champion title in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. Running in second position, she referred together with Katia Benth, Sylviane Félix Christine Arron and in a time of 42.59 s, the squadrons of Germany and Russia to the places.

At the World Athletics Championships 2001 in Edmonton Bangue won jointly with Sylviane Félix, Muriel Hurtis and Odiah Sidibé the silver medal in the relay. With a time of 42.39 s, the French quartet reached the goal behind the German front and the Jamaican team. Bangue launched in Edmonton also about 100 m, but already retired in the quarterfinal round.
