Fridge (band)

Fridge is a British band that was founded by school friends Kieran Hebden, Adem Ilhan and Sam Jeffers in English Putney in 1994. The music is purely instrumental and based on guitar, bass, electronics and drums.

Band History

Through his friendship with Trevor Jackson, the founder of the label Output Recordings, it is 1996 release of their debut album Ceefax. It published at irregular intervals Singles and Maxis (among Lojen, Angelpoised, Lign, Orko and Distance). Various remixes, for example, David Holmes, Kennicke, Badly Drawn Boy bear the signature Kieran Hebden.

The album Semaphore 1998 continues the approach of Ceefax. The London Dempsey standing Fridge on the recording of the album Sunrise / Sunset as studio musicians, as well as Kieran Hebden as a producer to the side; for the indie pop singer Badly Drawn Boy they are in 1999 live backing band on his U.S. tour.

After release of the singles and Maxis on a double CD Seventh and Twelves 1998 Change of Output Recordings Fridge to Go! Beat or publish the album EPH 1999. The album Happiness was published in 2001. The titles exceeded in part, the 10 -minute mark. The onset with EPH Stilpluraliltät and variety of instruments to be expanded to Happiness.

In May 2007, the release of " The Sun" titled fifth album after six -year break. The arrangements are considerably less electronic, rhythm section and guitar come again to the fore.

Kieran Hebden published the works of his solo project under the name Four Tet and collaborated since 2005 with drummer Steve Reid. Adem Ilhan has been released as Adem two solo albums.
