Friedrich Christian Baumeister
Friedrich Christian Baumeister ( born July 17, 1709 grains ( Thuringia), † October 8, 1785 in Görlitz ) was a German philosopher.
Life
Baumeister attended the gymnasium in Gotha, came to pass after 1727 to the University of Jena where he was inspired by Johann Koehler for the Wolffian philosophy. On May 21, 1729, he moved to the University of Wittenberg, where he heard under Johann Wilhelm von Berger philology and rhetoric, and pursued with Friedrich Wilhelm locksmith and Samuel Christian Hollmann philosophical studies. In Wittenberg he acquired on October 17, 1730 the degree of Master of Arts and was able to get the academic teaching license of Master laying the next day on 18 October 1730.
After he was on April 29, 1734 became an adjunct at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Academy, he takes 1736 to an appointment as rector of the Gymnasium in Görlitz. Later they tried to win builder for the post of professor of philosophy at Wittenberg, but he remained in Görlitz until his death. He has to made by the drafting much used textbooks, the spread of the philosophy of Christian Wolff deserves.
