Frithjof Prydz

Frithjof Prydz ( born July 15, 1943 in Oslo, † December 8, 1992 ) was a Norwegian ski jumper and tennis player.

Career

Ski Jumping

Prydz began early on in his hometown of Oslo at the club Ready IL ski jumping. 1968 saw him win Bjørn Wirkola and Lars Grini bronze medal on the normal hill at the Norwegian championships in ski jumping. Prydz launched due to sustained success in national jumping for the first time to the Four Hills Tournament 1969/70 at an international show jumping. On December 28, 1969, he was doing 16 in Oberstdorf Prydz jumped to 1976 per year in the Tournament. His biggest success was a 7th place in Bischofshofen 1971. During the Norwegian Championship in 1971, he won silver in the normal hill in Rælingen and bronze on the large hill in Bærum. In 1972 he won the gold medal and was on the large hill in Trondheim Norwegian champion. It was his only gold medal at the national championships. Due to this success, he was part of the squad for the Ski Flying World Championships 1972 in Planica, where he won the 17th place. The following year, he had to settle on the large hill at the Norwegian Championships with silver on the normal hill and bronze. Once again he was successful with the national silver medal on the large hill in 1975 and also finished 4th at the Ski Flying World Championships in 1975, he finished after the Four Hills Tournament 1975/76 his active career Springer.

Tennis

Frithjof Prydz won as a tennis player 1968-1985 a total of 21 national titles and played 15 games in the Davis Cup. From this he was able to win four. Prydz played alongside the men's singles and doubles and in mixed doubles, inter alia, Ellen Grindvold.

For his achievements in ski jumping and tennis Frithjof Prydz was in 1971 awarded the Egebergs Ærespris.
