Frymburk (Klatovy District)

Frymburk ( German Frimburg, Reiberg Remberg, also Reinsburg ) is a municipality with 104 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south of Horažďovice and belongs to Okres Klatovy. The land area is 653 ha

Geography

The place is located in 493 m asl on Mačický creek in the South Bohemian hills. Neighboring towns are Volenice in the east, Nezamyslice, Kejnice and Kalenice in the north, and Damětice Domoraz in the west and Krejnice, Vojnice and Mačice in the south.

History

Was first mentioned Frymburk in 1318. In the south of the village was formerly the castle Frymburk, which was completely removed. The desert fortress is considered archaeological site.
