Fundamental Physics Prize
The Fundamental Physics Prize is a prize of The Fundamental Physics Prize Foundation, a nonprofit organization that was founded by the Russian entrepreneur Yuri Milner.
The price is the financially most valuable prize in the Sciences since July 2012. The prize money is 3 million U.S. dollars ( for each prize winner ) three times higher than for the Nobel Prize. In the first year, nine awards were presented, with the winners of the first annual sitting of the selection committee for future winners.
In addition to the main prize, the Foundation awards ( to the winners sit in the selection committee of the fundamental Prize ), endowed with $ 300,000 Physics Frontiers Prize and the $ 100,000 doped New Horizons in Physics Prize.
The prize is awarded by the Fundamental Physics Foundation, a non - profit organization. In their advice is next to Milner and Steven Weinberg.
