Furka–Oberalp-Bahn Deh 4/4 II

The Deh 4/4 II is a narrow-gauge baggage railcar of the Matterhorn -Gotthard - Bahn (MGB ) for adhesion and rack operation.

Because the Furka -Oberalp -Bahn had (FO ) with the Deh made ​​4 /4 I good experience, they procured the Deh 4/4 II as his successor. In the wake of the merger of FO with the BVZ they came to the new company Matterhorn -Gotthard - Bahn (MGB ), where she referred to only as Deh 4/4 and, if necessary, be distinguished by the serial numbers 21, 51 and 91.

Technology

Since we had a little trouble with the aluminum boxes predecessor, the Deh got 4/4 II boxes in light steel design with beading. In addition, the boxes have been shortened to save weight. For the driver, the view has been improved. The bogies are interchangeable with those of the Deh 4/4 I. Order in case of failure of a tunnel locomotive Ge 4 /4 III to still be able to handle the car train, the Deh 93-94 and 1984 subsequently delivered Deh received 95-96 connections for the air brake system. The remote control from the Autozugsteuerwagen is not possible, the composition must be covered with a respective strain at each end. Operation

The Deh 4/4 II as the Deh 4/4 I for shuttle trains that are formed along with two intermediate cars and a driving car, used on the entire route network of the former FO. A Railcar, mostly No. 95 or 96, serves as a replacement vehicle for the other strain and is also used alone for over carts. Previously also freight trains were run to Göschenen.
