Future Boy Conan
Mirai Shonen Conan (未来 少年 コナンJapanese, German "Future Boy Conan ") is a produced by Nippon Animation and directed by Hayao Miyazaki anime television series of 1978. The given by the Japanese producers English title of the series is Conan, the Boy in Future, in English, but he was known as Future Boy Conan.
The series is an adaptation of the novel The Incredible Tide by Alexander Key. In 1984, the series a movie titled Mirai Shōnen Conan Tokubetsu - hen: Fukkatsu no Kyodaiki giant (未来 少年 コナン 特別 編 巨大 機 ギガント の 復活).
Action
The history begins in July 2008, at a time when humanity is threatened with extinction. A devastating war between the major nations with ultra- magnetic weapons was preceded and had great damage done to the earth's crust and can tilt the Earth's axis, so that the five continents torn and had been lowered below the sea level.
The attempt by a group of people to flee into space, failed and their spaceships crashed back to earth. Only one of them escaped the destruction and made a crash landing on a tiny island that had survived miraculously. The castaways settled there and built a small settlement.
Among these survivors, a boy named Conan was born after about nine years, a new ray of hope on earth. Eleven years later, most of the survivors have already died and only Conan and his " grandfather " are still alive on the island. As Conan one day in 2028 an unconscious lying on the beach girl named Lana finds begins for both a great adventure.

The television series was produced in 1978 by Nippon Animation and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It was his directorial debut. In addition, Keiji Hayakawa and Isao Takahata were as co- directors and writers as well as Yoshiyuki Tomino, Seiji Okuda, Noboru Ishiguro and Takayoshi Suzuki participated as authors. Yasuo Ōtsuka had designed the characters.
The anime series with 26 episodes was first aired on April 4, 1978 to October 31, 1978 on Tuesday evening by the Japanese broadcaster NHK. Repetitions followed first at NHK, Animax later. This radiated the series as Conan, The Boy in Future of English. The television series was also translated among others into Korean, Mandarin, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Arabic.
