G. V. Loganathan

GV Loganathan ( Gobichettypalayam Vasudevan Loganathan, born April 20, 1956 at village Karatadipalayam, Tamil Nadu, † April 16, 2007 in Blacksburg, Virginia) was an Indian civil engineer.

Loganathan graduated from the University of Madras and graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor from, made in 1978 a master's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and his PhD in 1982 from Purdue University. He then moved to Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University ( " Virginia Tech "). Here he developed into an outstanding and award-winning scientist in the field of civil engineering. Most recently, he was Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Loganathan was a member of the Faculty Senate and the Virginia Tech Honor Court. He was also co-editor of the scientific journal Journal of Hydrologic Engineering.

Loganathan was on 16 April 2007 one of the victims in the shooting rampage at Virginia Tech.
