Gabon national football team

The Gabonese national football team that represents the African state of Gabon in football, is under the Fédération de Football Gabonaise.

She could never qualified for a World Cup, but already five times for the Africa Cup, most recently in 2012 as co-host. Here, twice the quarterfinals was reached in which every time was lost in a penalty shootout.

The active in Europe for national team play almost exclusively in the first and French second division. Current coach of the team is Gernot Rohr, the beginning of 2010, the former French international Alain Giresse succeeded.

In qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil Gabon met first on Burkina Faso, Niger and the Republic of Congo. By a 0-1 defeat on the final day in Burkina Faso Gabon was only third in the group and failed to qualify.
