Geography

Geographical location

Gaildorf is considered the center of the Limpurger country that stretches south of Schwäbisch Hall. History

Gaildorf 1255 was mentioned for the first time and received in 1404 the city and market rights by King Ruprecht. It was the residence of one of the two main lines of the taverns of Limpurg, later the Counts of Waldeck- Limpurg. From 1500 the town was in the Frankish Empire circle.
