Galang ( Indonesian Pulau Galang ) is one of Indonesia's Riau Islands off the east coast of Sumatra in the Malay Archipelago.

Galang is located 350 m south of Rempang, east of Combol, north of Galang Baru - and south-west of Bintan. Further south is - in addition to the other islands - Abang - besar. The area of ​​the island has 80 km ². The most important place is Sinyantung on the northwest coast.

Along with the neighboring islands, it forms the archipelago Barelang (abbreviated from Batam Rempang - Galang ). Built in 1997 and 385 m long Barelang bridge connects the islands Rempang and Galang. A 180 m long bridge leading to the southern neighboring island of Galang - Baru.

Around 1979, the waters off Galang by many boat people was driven auxiliary ships such as the "Flora" of the Red Cross have been used here. On Galang settlements for more than 15,000 refugees have been built, mainly Vietnamese boat people, but also Chinese refugees from Java.
