Galbi

Galbi is a meat dish of Korean cuisine. It's been marinated and then grilled ribs. Inside and outside Korea, it is also known as " Korean Barbecue".

Preparation and ingredients

Galbi is usually made with beef ribs. These are placed in a marinade and pull to stand overnight. The exact composition of this marinade is different depending on the region. The best galbi comes to the prevailing opinion of Suwon.

The ribs are cut into small pieces and then grilled on a grill in the middle of the table. Traditionally, a charcoal grill is used. Lately, however, are increasingly gas grills are used.

Lately Galbi is partially cooked with pork ribs. This is then " Dwaeji galbi " means ( Dwaeji = pig). In order to clearly emphasize the preparation of beef, hence the term Sogalbi ( So = cattle) is used recently.

Galbi can best be compared with American Spare Ribs. Hence the name " Korean Barbecue".
