Bulgogi

Bulgogi ( literally translated as " fire meat " ), is a meat dish of Korean cuisine. It is considered a festive dish in Korea.

However, the name " fire meat " implies so much attention to the sharpness of the court. Rather, it is the way of preparation, namely on an open fire, to be expressed.

Preparation and ingredients

Bulgogi is made from beef that is previously inserted in a sweet marinade of soy sauce, spring onions and spices. The meat is usually first bite cut with scissors at the table into thin squares or strips and then also cooked at the table on a grill. The sharp variation with Pork ( Daeji Bulgogi ) is flavored additionally with Gochujang ( chilli paste), garlic, ginger and sesame oil.

If the pieces of meat are finished grilling, they are placed on a lettuce leaf and depending on personal preference, together with soy sauce ( Ganjang ), chili paste ( Gochujang ), fresh coleslaw, kimchi, garlic and other ingredients rolled in this lettuce leaf, with the fingers as a complete bundle pushed into the mouth and eaten. Sesame leaves are also often used instead of regular salad leaves. Frequently Bulgogi is also simply eaten with rice.
