Galina Bogomolova

Galina Evgenevna Bogomolowa (Russian Галина Евгеньевна Богомолова; engl transcription Galina Bogomolova, . Born 15 October 1977) is a Russian long-distance runner.

She is four-time Russian champion in the 10,000 -meter run (2000, 2003, 2005 and 2006). In Paris she was over this distance at the World Athletics Championships 2003 Sixth in their personal best time of 30:26,20 min, at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki Eighth and at the European Championships 2006 in Gothenburg fourth.

2005, she finished fourth at the World Half Marathon Championships in Edmonton. The year 2006 then led to a breakthrough on the marathon distance: The London Marathon she finished fifth in 2:21:58 h, the Chicago Marathon she scored in second with 2:20:47 h a Russian record.

2008 Galina Bogomolowa ran the Rome Marathon with 2:22:53 hours, the fastest ever time a woman on Italian soil.
