Flat Reishi ( Ganoderma applanatum )

The Lackporlinge ( Ganoderma ) are a genus of the family Lackporlingsverwandten ( Ganodermataceae ). There are wood-inhabiting pore fungi that live as parasites on Saprobionten or coniferous and deciduous trees and produce a white rot in the infested wood.

Features

The Lackporlinge are characterized by relatively large, flat, pedunculated or sessile lateral tough fruiting bodies, which may be mono-or perennial. They can be distinguished from other Polyporales by their double-walled basidiospores, the spore powder is light brown. The genus is divided into two sections:

  • Section Ganoderma has a glossy Hutoberseite as Ganoderma lucidum, and
  • Section Elfvingia, has a matt hat surface, such as Ganoderma applanatum.

Species

The genus includes about 50, mainly occurring in tropical species worldwide. The separation between species is still unclear in Europe are seven clans, distinguished in Germany six species whose species rank is unclear.

Deposits in Central Europe

  • Flat Reishi ( Ganoderma applanatum, or syn. G. lipsiense )
  • Reishi ( Ganoderma lucidum )
  • Copper Red Reishi ( Ganoderma pfeifferi )
  • Beaded Reishi ( Ganoderma adspersum or syn. G. europaeum syn. G. australe )
  • Resinous Reishi ( Ganoderma resinaceum )
  • Dark Reishi ( Ganoderma carnosum )

Krieglsteiner assigns these types of three groups:

  • Ganoderma Ganoderma australe and applanatum
  • Ganoderma pfeifferi
  • Ganoderma Ganoderma lucidium with resinaceum, Ganoderma and Ganoderma carnosum valesiacum

Other types

  • Ganoderma philippii
  • Ganoderma tsugae - On conifers, especially hemlock; similar Ganoderma lucidum
  • Ganoderma curtisii
  • Ganoderma oregonese

Importance
