Polyporales

Reishi ( Ganoderma lucidum )

The Stielporlingsartigen ( Polyporales ) are an order large fungi from the class Agaricomycetes. Previously they have with the sting, legs and groin fungi, and all forms of crust-like ( = resupinaten ) beef mushrooms as non agarics ( Aphyllophorales ) refers. However, this classification is out of date, since the taxon has been shown to be polyphyletic.

The Stielporlingsartigen often grow on wood and form fruiting bodies, the sessile usually consist of consoles or more hats. The fruit layer and the meat often consist of several types of hyphae. Come only generative hyphae before, so the fabric is monomitisch. But it can also occur in addition Skeletthyphen and binding hyphae. Then the Trama is dimitisch or trimitisch. The occurrence of the last two Hyphentypen caused the hardness and toughness of the fruit body. Some Stielporlingsartigen grow perennial and throughout the year, provided there is no frost.

Most fruiting bodies develop gymnokarp, therefore, the basidia are always open during their development on the surface of the hymenium and not at any time of the fruit body wall or sheath ( velum ) covered.
