The Gare d' Austerlitz (originally Gare d' Orléans ) is one of the six terminal stations of Paris. It is located in the 13th arrondissement on the left bank of the Seine. His passenger volume amounts to 25 million passengers per year ( 68,000 per day), which corresponds to half of the proceeds of the Gare Montparnasse (Paris).

The name of the station comes from the Moravian town of Austerlitz, in which Napoleon Bonaparte at the Battle of Three Emperors 2nd December 1805 was victorious pulled against the numerically superior Austro- Russian troops into battle. History

Future

The Gare d' Austerlitz is the only one of six train stations in Paris, which is not fully utilized.
