Garges-lès-Gonesse

Garges -lès -Gonesse is a commune with 39 730 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the region of Ile de France. It is located 15 kilometers from the center of Paris and is part of the agglomeration Paris.

Garges -lès -Gonesse is bordered to the north by Arnouville, to the east by Bonneuil -en -France, on the south by Dugny, in the southwest of Stains and on the northwest by Sarcelles.

History

Little is known about the origin of the village Garges. A proven record comes from the year 631, when the Frankish king Dagobert I resided in Paris and chose Garges to his country seat.

Infrastructure

Garges -lès -Gonesse is served by the line 5 of the Paris tram and bus RATP. The Garges- Sarcelles station is located on the major north -south railway line (RER D ) of the Paris suburban. The Le Bourget airport in the nearby town of Bonneuil -en -France, on the east directly to Garges -lès -Gonesse.

Sports

The football club from Garges took the time part in the Coupe de France in 1973/74 and 1985/86. The Ice Hockey Club de Garges Chiefs play in Division 1, the second division in France.
