The Gartempe ( okzitan. Gartempa ) is a river in France, which runs in the Limousin and Poitou- Charentes. It rises in the Massif Central, the place Pétillat, in the municipality of Peyrabout, approximately 640 meters above sea level and ends after 205 kilometers in the vicinity of La Roche- Posay as a left tributary in the Creuse. On her way she crosses the departments of Creuse, Haute -Vienne and Vienne.
