Gaśno

Gasno is a Polish village mayor's office in the Masovian Voivodeship. It is located approximately 4 kilometers east of Gostynin and belongs to the same rural community.

Near the river Osetnica feeds a two meters deep and nine acre pond. On its shore is the local water mill of gasno, which was used until 1945 for grinding grain.

History

Gasno was founded before 1796 by Hauländer. 1881 comprised the place 20 houses, 198 inhabitants, and 298 acres of land.

On March 12, 1863 at gasno came in the wake of the January Uprising to a battle, were driven at the Polish insurgents of the Tsar's troops into the river and drowned. A memorial remembers there today to the victims.

From 1975 to 1998 gasno belonged to the Province of Płock.
