GAZ Group
The GAZ Group (Russian Группа ГАЗ ) is the largest automotive company in Russia. It emerged from the restructuring, which was founded in 2000 RusPromAvto in 2005.
Business
The GAZ Group is an Open Joint Stock Company ( OJSC ) and belongs to the asset holding company Basic Element of Oleg Vladimirovich Russian oligarch Deripaska. CEO is Vadim Sorokin.
In the year 2007 226.192 vans and trucks were (2005: 169 268 ), 22 344 buses ( 18,716 ), 40,034 passenger cars ( 55 055 ) and 111 399 engines built. Revenues in 2005, 2006 and 2007 amounted to 3,527, 4,541 and 6,175 million dollars.
As a result of the financial and economic crisis, the GAZ Group was mid-February 2009, shortly before the insolvency.
