Gemma Frisius is an impact crater on the lunar front side, southwest of Mare Nectaris, north of the large crater Maurolycus and south of Pontanus. On the northern edge is the smaller crater Goodacre. The rim is heavily eroded and layered multiple times, the interior is largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the physician, mathematician, cartographer and instrument maker Gemma R. Frisius.
