Genas

Recovered is a commune with 12,321 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Rhône, Rhône- Alpes. It is located in the arrondissement of Lyon and is part of the canton Décines -Charpieu. The inhabitants are called Genassiens.

Geography

Recovered is about 15 kilometers east of Lyon, in the Pays du vellum and is surrounded by the neighboring communities Meyzieu in the north, Pusignan in the northeast and east, Colombier- Saugnieu the east and southeast, Saint -Bonnet -de- Mure in the south, Saint- Priest southwest and Chassieu in the West.

History

The area around Lyon was the settlement area of ​​the Gallic tribes of the Velauner and Allobrogians.

Between 1886 and 1890 the fort of Genas was built.
