Gendarme in New York

The gendarme from Broadway ( original title: Le Gendarme à New York ) is a French comedy film from 1965 directed by Jean Girault and with the actor and comedian Louis de Funès. It is the second of six films about Gendarme of Saint- Tropez. The action takes place mainly in New York. The West German cinema release was on June 9, 1967. The film was shown in the German-speaking regions under the titles Thus a country policeman 's heavy and Louis in the land of opportunity, as well as in the GDR as The policeman in New York.

Action

Gendarme Ludovic Cruchot from Saint Tropez, played by Louis de Funès, receives an invitation with his men in an international police conference in New York to participate. On the boat, with which they can travel to the U.S., also Nicole, the daughter Cruchots hiding as a stowaway. Shortly after arriving Nicole is discovered and interrogated by the American police.
