Gennadi Bliznyuk

Henads Blisnjuk (White Russian Генадзь Блізнюк, English transcription Henadz Blizniuk, also Russian Геннадий Петрович Близнюк - Gennady Petrovich Blisnjuk - Gennadiy Bliznyuk, . Born July 30, 1980 in Swetlahorsk ) is a Belarusian footballer.

Career

Blisnjuk came over the lower division teams Energia Zhlobin (3rd League ) and Kommunalnik Swetlahorsk (2nd Division) in 1999 for first division club FK Gomel. After three years with rather mixed Homel he could show for the first time in 2002 season-ending double-digit goal tally and a year later with 18 goals even scorer. After each a cup and league title in 2004 he joined the Russian second division Sokol Saratov. In mid-2005 he returned to Belarus back after Sokol stood in the Russian amateur football just before the crash and joined the emerging BATE Borisov first division.

In addition to the Double in the 2006 season, he won the Belarusian championship in 2007 and 2008 two more times. 2008 is also qualified after beating Reykjavík, Anderlecht and Sofia as the first Belarusian team ever for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
