Gentry Lee

Gentry Lee ( b. 1942 ) has become known as the co- author of several science fiction novels by Arthur C. Clarke. Particularly well known are the three common sequels of the novel Rendezvous with Rama (Eng. rendezvous with 31/439 ), the Arthur C. Clarke wrote in 1972. Together, the four books known as Rama cycle.

After the last collaborative work with Arthur C. Clarke Rama Revealed (German: Nodus ) Lee wrote three more science fiction novels, two of which are also in the Rama Universe playing (Bright Messengers (German: messengers of light) and Double Full Moon Night ).

Gentry Lee was in 1977 at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena (California ) senior engineer of the Galileo project, whose spacecraft reached Jupiter in December 1995. In addition, Lee was involved in the Mars mission of the Viking spacecraft.

From 1978 to 1981 Lee developed together with the astronomer Carl Sagan, the popular science television series Cosmos. It was broadcast in over sixty countries and has won numerous awards, including three Emmys.

1988 could be Lee from his job at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a leave of absence, in order to devote his career as a writer can. He continued working as a consultant at NASA. Today he lives with his wife Stacey and his seven sons near Dallas, Texas.
