Content

Geogaddi treated again innocent, childlike, melodic and harmonic structures, which can be found already on the previous album. In this album, however, there are motives that sound very happy on the one hand and very dark on the other. Some songs have such dark and occult connotations: References to horned deities ( " You Could Feel the Sky" ), cults of the Branch Davidians ( " 1969 " ), backward messages ( " A Is to B as B Is to C") and Hypnosis ( " The Devil Is in the details" ). It thus remains the hallmark of Boards of Canada, to set intuitively harmonious melodies in an unsettling mood.

" Geogaddi is a record for some sort of trial -by -fire, a claustrophobic, twisting journey takes you into some pretty did dark experiences before you reach the open air again. It has a kind of narrative. "

" Geogaddi is like a baptism of fire: a claustrophobic, strange trip that brings close to a rather dismal experience before you can go back to fresh air. The album has a narrative structure. "
