Georg August Rudolph

August Rudolph ( born September 25, 1816 in Kassel, † December 13, 1893 in Marburg ) was a German jurist. Over 30 years he was mayor of Marburg.

Life

Rudolph was the son of the city architect and ways Commissioner Heinrich Rudolph. He studied law and Kameralwissenschaft at the Philipps- University of Marburg and was in the Corps Guestphalia Marburg (1834, 1840) and Teutonia Marburg active. In the meantime, he was at the Ruprecht -Karls- University of Heidelberg, where he 1839 the Corps Nassovia joined.

After a year as a junior barrister at the District Court Rodenberg he returned to Marburg. On December 4, 1856, he was mayor of Marburg. In 1862 he was appointed to the Kurhessische national assembly. After 30 years in office he gave on August 2, 1884 on the Lord Mayor.

Honors
