Georg Friedrich, Prince of Prussia

Georg Friedrich Ferdinand Prince of Prussia ( born June 10, 1976 in Bremen ) is a German business administration and is considered the head of the House of Hohenzollern since 1994.

Biography

Georg Friedrich is the son of Louis Ferdinand, Prince of Prussia (1944-1977) and Donata née Countess zu Castell -Rüdenhausen (* 1950 ) and great-grandson of the last German Emperor and King of Prussia Wilhelm II ( 1859-1941; . Reg 1888 -1918 ). He has a younger sister, Cornelia -Cécile Princess of Prussia ( b. 1978 ).

Shortly after his first birthday, his father died of the consequences of an accident he had suffered during a military exercise as a reserve officer candidates. Georg Friedrich spent his childhood and youth with his sister at the residence of the parents in Fischerhude near Bremen. He attended grammar schools in Bremen and after change of residence in Oldenburg. The Glenalmond College near Perth in Scotland he passed the Abitur. After his two-year military service in the middle of the forest with the mountain, he studied business administration at the Technical University of Freiberg in Saxony.

After the death of his grandfather, Louis Ferdinand Sr. on 25 September 1994, he has become accordance with the provisions of the outside of the family in the meantime nonobjective Prussian House Law Head of the House of Hohenzollern. It is therefore seen by German monarchists as a candidate to a theoretical Prussian or German throne. He himself says that he does not have a political role still striving and did not feel as " noble ". He compares his role to that of an entrepreneur who is carrying on a long-established family business.

Georg Friedrich lives in Berlin and works as a corporate and business start-up consultant with scientists in the use of university innovations. He was promoted to Major in May 2011 the reserve. German President Christian Wulff gave in January 2012 a dinner in honor of Georg Friedrich, Prince of Prussia in Schloss Bellevue. The occasion was the 300th anniversary of the birthday of Frederick II

Family

Georg Friedrich married 25 August 2011 Sophie Princess of Isenburg Birstein ( born March 7, 1978) in a civil ceremony in Potsdam Town Hall. On August 27, 2011, the church wedding took place at the Church of Peace in Potsdam as part of an ecumenical worship service. The ceremony was broadcast live as part of a three-hour telecast of broadcasting Berlin- Brandenburg. Hosted by Rolf Seelmann- Eggebert and Tatjana jury broadcast was watched by about 160,000 viewers. Sons Carl Friedrich Ferdinand and Louis were born and baptized on 22 June 2013 at Burg Hohenzollern in Bremen January 20, 2013.

Honorary Appointments

Georg Friedrich is the CEO of Princess Kira of Prussia Foundation, Honorary Chairman of the Association of German -American Clubs, and since June 2005 also chairman of Berlin Committee of German Foundation for Monument Protection. He is committed to maintaining the restoration of the Berlin Hohenzollern Museum, which was located in the heavily damaged in World War II, in 1959 demolished against violent protest of museum professionals Monbijou Palace and the Eastern Wing of Charlottenburg Palace ( Knobelsdorffstraße Wing) should find its new home.
