Georg Ritter von Frauenfeld

Georg Ritter von Frauenfeld ( born June 3, 1807 in Vienna, † October 8, 1873 ) was an Austrian naturalist and zoologist, specializing in entomology and malacology. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Frauenf. ".

Frauenfeld was curator of the mollusc collection in the former "kk Zoological Court Cabinet " (now Natural History Museum Vienna ). In 1851 he founded in Vienna, the " Zoological and Botanical Society " and took from 1857 to 1859 at the Novara expedition part.

Buried at the cemetery of Frauenfeld in the rear Brühl in Lower Austria.
