Georg Schnéevoigt

Lennart Georg Schnéevoigt (* November 8, 1872, † November 28, 1947 ) was a Finnish conductor and cellist (now Russia) was born in Vyborg.

Schnéevoigt was a close friend of the composer Jean Sibelius. As a cellist, he was until 1902 a principal cellist of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Helsinki and then became chief conductor of the Kaim Orchestra, now the Munich Philharmonic. 1915 to 1924 he headed the Stockholm Concert Society, later the Sydney Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic. Georg Schnéevoigt headed from 1930 until his death in 1947, the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. 1932 to 1940 he was chief conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Helsinki.
