Georg Teigl

Georg Teigl ( born February 9, 1991, Vienna) is an Austrian football player at the position of a defense or midfield player. It can be used on the left and on the right wing. Since 2014 he is at RB Leipzig under contract.

Career

Georg Teigl began at SV Gablitz playing football and came over FC Purkersdorf in the youth of the SKN St. Pölten. He attended from 2005 to 2009 the football academy St. Pölten, before he was hired by FC Red Bull Salzburg in June 2009. The "Red Bull Juniors " played at this time in the second highest Austrian Football League ( ADEG Erste Liga). His professional debut came on 14 July 2009 in the game against FC Wacker Innsbruck. He was allowed to start in the starting XI and was replaced in the 63rd minute for Marco Meilinger. Due to a league reform, the Juniors had to end the Austrian Football Championship 2009/10 relegated to the third highest league, the Football Regional ( Regional League West), but Teigl remained loyal to the team. In January 2011, the FC Wacker Innsbruck was interested in a commitment, but once asked him Dietrich Mateschitz in the near future for the first team in view, he remained in Salzburg.

His debut in the Austrian Bundesliga was Teigl on 16 April 2011 at the Bundesliga game against SK Sturm Graz. He was substituted at half-time for Jakob Jantscher and crowned his performance with the decisive pass to 3:0 by Alan. In the spring season, he came to another seven missions and signed for the Bundesliga team FC Red Bull Salzburg a 3- year contract until 2014. On 21 July 2011 he was against the Latvian team Liepaja Metalurgs his European Cup debut. The first Bundesliga goal he succeeded on October 2, 2011 at the away defeat against Austria Vienna, where he managed to make it 2-2 in the 62nd minute of the interim compensation. At the end of the 2011/12 season with Salzburg Teigl won the double in Austrian league and cup. In the 2012/13 season he has been repeatedly used as a substitute players. He played 33 times, scoring five goals. During the summer break 2013 Salzburg committed with Marco Meilinger and Yordy Reyna two top players at his position. In the first half of the 2013/14 season Teigl only came to six inserts - five of which were short assignments.

In January 2014 Teigl moved to RB Leipzig in the 3rd League, where he received a contract until the summer of 2015. Teigl was shortly obliged to replace the Leipzig Christian Müller, who had a few days earlier seriously injured in training camp and the remaining season fails.

National

Georg Teigl allowed to play for Austrian junior national teams to now a total of 14 times. In the U-19 European Championship 2010 in France, he was twice in action and was in the final group match against the U- 19 team of the Netherlands assisted the winning goal for the 1-0 victory, bringing the Austrian team for the U -20 world Cup 2010 qualifying in Colombia. In the 2010 World Cup, for which he rather late received clearance from his club, he went on two missions in the first round. He came on in the games against Panama and the eventual champions Brazil. Austria itself dropped out after the first round of scoreless and with just a draw as a group last.
