George Ogăraru

George Ogăraru

George Cristian Ogăraru ( born February 3, 1980 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football player. He played a total of 226 games in the Romanian Liga 1, the Dutch Eredivisie and the Swiss Super League. In 2005 and 2006 he won the Romanian championship with Steaua Bucharest.

Career

The right-back began his career in 1998 with Steaua Bucharest. In the seasons 2000/ 01 and 2001/ 02 he played on loan at CSM Resita or Oţelul Galaţi. The following season he again played at Steaua Bucharest. From the 2006/07 season he played for Ajax Amsterdam. The 2008/09 season he played on loan at Steaua Bucharest before he returned to Ajax. In July 2010, he signed with FC Sion. With the club he won the Swiss Cup in his first year. In the 2011/12 season he was only in the second team of the Valais are used, which played in the first league. In the summer of 2012, he ended his active career.
