Georgian calendar

The ( old ) Georgian calendar is based on a cycle of 532 (28 x 19 ) years ( Koronikon, georg ქორონიკონი, . According to this period, the expiry of the days, weeks and months, repeated exactly ). In the year 781 AD began the 13th, in 1313 the 14th cycle. As the beginning of the date of Easter or September 1 are eligible.

The Koronikon dating can be found on documents, inscriptions and coins. Before Koronikon - year is often the year specified on creation of the world ( eg according to the Byzantine calendar).

The annual numbers are written with letters of the Georgian alphabet ( Mrglowani or Chuzuri ), initiated by " ქკს " = " Koronikon ".

Example: ადმს აქათ ზ ათას ჰ პ იბ ქკს ტობ = Since Adam 7 thousand 100 80 12 ( 7192 ) Koronikon 300 70 2 (372 ) = 1684 AD
