Gerald Thomas

Gerald Thomas ( born December 10, 1920 in Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, † November 9, 1993 in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire ) was a British film director, known for the Carry-on ... Movie series of comedies.

Life

Thomas started in film editing. The mid-1950s he began to work as a director and initially turned detective films. Later, his success niche was from 1958 ( "Carry On Sergeant " ) in the 30 "low budget" comedies of the Carry-on ... film series, which he also shared with his friend Peter Rogers produced and filmed at Pinewood Studios. The series ebbed in the late 1970s from ( a latecomer " Carry on Columbus " 1992). In addition, he also turned thrillers such as " The Vicious Circle" in 1957 by Francis Durbridge with John Mills or " The Second victory" in 1986 by Morris L.
