Gerardus Johannes Mulder

Gerardus Johannes Mulder ( * December 27, 1802 in Utrecht, † the end of April 1880 in Utrecht) was a Dutch biochemist.

Life

He studied from 1819 in Utrecht medicine, natural sciences and mathematics. In 1825 he settled as a physician in Amsterdam. In 1826 he went as a teacher of physics at the Batavian Society to Rotterdam and received in 1827 at the local medical school the teaching of botany and chemistry. In 1841 he accepted an appointment as a professor of chemistry at the University of Utrecht, where he served 1853/54 as rector.

He took his dismissal in 1868 and was until 1875 only as an advisor to the Dutch colonial ministry operates, which he had heard in that capacity for 40 years. In old age he became blind.

With Herman van Hall and Willem Vrolik he edited from 1826 to 1832 the Bijdragen tot de natuurkundige Wetenschappen alone from 1832 to 1836 and with Willem Wenckebach 1836-1838 the Natuur -en archief failed knowledgeable, with Friedrich Anton Wilhelm Miquel and Wenckebach the Bulletin of the sciences physiques et naturelles en Neerlande and only the disc matter experts since 1842 onderzoekingen gedaan in het laboratory of Utrechtsche Hogeschool and 1857-1865 the disc skilled Verhandelingen onderzoekingen s.
