Geremi Njitap

Geremi Sorele Njitap Fotso ( born December 20, 1978 in Bafoussam, Cameroon ) is a Cameroonian football player. He is known primarily as Geremi.

Geremi began his career at Racing Bafoussam in his native Cameroon. In 1997 he moved to Cerro Porteño, where he was briefly employed before he even joined the same year in Turkey to Gençlerbirliği. After two years he went to Spanish giants Real Madrid. He remained there for three years and was two-time UEFA Champions League winner and one Spanish masters. He was loaned to FC Middlesbrough 2002. There, the fans voted him player of the season. While this commitment in the Premier League, Chelsea became aware of him and signed him for a transfer in the amount of six million pounds.

In summer 2007, he moved to Newcastle United. For the second half of the season 2009/10 Geremi moved a second time to Turkey to MKE Ankaragucu. After only half a year at the capital club he joined AE Larisa. From early 2011 until 2012 Geremi was without a club, but then was hired by the just ascended the Macedonian first division side FK Ohrid 2004.

National

Geremi is Cameroonian national team. In 2000 he was part of the team that won the gold medal at the Olympic Games. In 2002 he played with at the World Championships and took part in the 2004 and 2006 African Cup. He was also in the squad for the 2010 World Cup and played in all three games for Cameroon at the tournament.
