The ensemble was launched in 1974 and went to 1983 under the name 'German Brass Quintet, German Brass Quintet and Quintette à Cuivres Allemand in appearance. In order to arrange the music of Bach for the production stream 300 without artistic compromise, Crespo doubled the quintet, ten years after its foundation, and gave him the new name of German Brass. A large part of the arrangements, transcriptions of old music and new compositions for the group created Matthias Hoefs and Enrique Crespo. Particular space in the repertoire of the formation takes a cross-genre music.
