Ghost flathead

Hoplichthys haswelli

The sting flat heads ( Hoplichthyidae ), also called ghost flathead fish, are a family of marine fishes of the order Perciformes ( Perciformes ).

Features

Sting flat heads have an elongated, 6-43 cm long body. Your provided with spines head is flat and very wide. The fish do not have scales. Along the sides of the body depending runs a row of small spines. The first hartstrahlige dorsal fin is short, the second weichstrahlige and anal fins very long. The anal fin has no hard jets. The first three to four rays of the pelvic fins are free.

Sting flat heads living in the Indo-Pacific at depths of ten to 1500 meters on the sea floor.
