The Passo di Giau ( buchensteinisch - Ladin Jou de Giau, ampezzanisch - Ladin El Jou ) is a 2236 m slm high mountain pass in the Italian province of Belluno. From Cortina d' Ampezzo in the Valle del Boite he leads southeast of the lower Falzarego in the valley of Stone Book (it. Arabba, lad. Fodom ) and to Selva di Cadore. The southern rise of Selva di Cadore is a scenic than the increase from the north, as it is more forested. Over a distance of just 10 kilometers about 920 meters of altitude to be overcome. The average slope is approximately 9.4% ( max. 14 %). Under certain weather conditions, the pass road is open in winter.

From the pass, there is one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the Alps, but not too rewarding hiking trails.
