Giles Nuttgens

Giles Nuttgens ( born July 12, 1961) is a British cinematographer.

Life

Giles Nuttgens is the son of the architect Patrick Nuttgens ( 1930-2004 ). His younger brother is the composer Sandy Nuttgens. In 1981, he began his career as a camera assistant at BBC TV. At the age of 25, he was one of the youngest cameramen who film documentaries. Later he became assistant camera Andrew Dunn and debuted with the 1992 published and directed by Pradip Krishen Electric Moon as a cameraman for a feature film. For the Canadian director Deepa Mehta he later turned her elemental trilogy Fire - When love catches fire (1996 ), Earth ( 1998) and Water (2005 ). For the latter, he was honored with the award of the Canadian Film Awards Genie Award for Best Cinematography.
