Giorgio Gomelsky

Giorgio Gomelsky ( born February 28, 1934 in Georgia) is an influential British impresario, music manager and producer.

He was the son of a doctor and a milliner from Monte Carlo. In 1938 his parents fled from the Stalinist Soviet Union and came to Syria, Egypt and Italy in 1944 in Switzerland, where Giorgio attended a Benedictine school in Ascona and the Ecole d' Humanité private under the direction of Paul Geheeb in Hasliberg.

He was the owner of the famous Crawdaddy Club, which for the Rolling Stones at the time formed the basis. In addition, Gomelsky was the first manager of the Stones until he was replaced by the Andrew Loog Oldham eloquent young. According to the Rolling Stones, the Yardbirds, he could convince the new house band of his Crawdaddy to be clubs, and became their manager and producer until the year 1966 into it. He still owns the rights to the Yardbird songs from this period. In 1967, he founded the record label Marmalade Records, which artists such as Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger and The Trinity was home. The label, however, was suddenly closed by Gomelsky under mysterious circumstances. Some say he would one day simply closed the doors and would have disappeared without notifying the artist or anybody else.

Giorgio also was instrumental in the careers of the following artists and bands: Soft Machine, Daevid Allen, Gong, and Magma.
