Gisela Grothaus

Gisela Grothaus ( born February 20, 1955 in Berlin) is a former German canoeist. It was 1972 Olympic silver medalist in canoe slalom.

Grothaus, which was 1973 and 1975 German champion in canoe slalom, celebrated their biggest success in the white-water canoeing. 1973, 1975 and 1977 she was world champion in the individual competition, 1979, 1981 and 1983, she won second place, respectively. In the team competition she won in 1973, 1977, 1981 and 1983 the title in 1979 won the German Kanutinnen silver behind the U.S. women. In German Championships on the whitewater Grothaus won eight titles from 1973 to 1982.
