Ulrike Deppe

Ulrike Deppe ( born December 9, 1953 in Lippstadt) is a former German canoeist. It was 1981 World Champion in slalom canoe.

The canoeist from WSC Lippstadt was successful at the beginning of her career both as a whitewater canoeist and canoe slalom. In 1969 she won second place at the Wild Water World Championships in the individual competition and with the team. It was followed by 1971 World Champion titles in singles and with the team in 1973, she won silver in the individual behind Gisela Grothaus and gold with the team.

Also in 1969 occupied Ulrike Deppe at the world championships in canoe slalom second place in the individual behind the Czecho- Slovak Ludmila Polesná. In the team competition Ulrike Deppe, Bärbel Körner and Brigitte Schwarck won. 1971 won Deppe, grains and Ursula Heinrich silver in the team competition. At the 1972 Olympics canoe slalom was first olympic. On the Augsburg Eiskanal Ulrike Deppe, Gisela Grothaus and Magdalena Wunderlich went for the Federal Republic at the start. While Deppe only finished seventh, Grothaus attended with silver and bronze with Wunderlich for two West German medals behind Angelika Bahmann from the GDR. Since in 1992 the canoe slalom was back on the Olympic program, this remained Ulrike Deppe's only Olympic participation.

In 1975 Ulrike Deppe at the world championships in canoe slalom second place behind the Polin Maria Ćwiertniewicz. In 1976 Ulrike Deppe won her first national title in canoe slalom, until 1982 should follow four titles. 1979 won Deppe together with Elke and Gabriele Dietze Kollmann the World Championship silver medal in the team competition behind the Kanutinnen from the United States. Her biggest success recorded Ulrike Deppe at the Canoe Slalom World Championships 1981 in Bala, Wales. She won both the title in the individual competition as well as together with Gabriele Susanne Erber Kollmann and the title in the team standings.
